Google and SEO

What is local SEO, in plain English?

Local SEO is the work of showing up when someone near you searches for what you do. It is mostly your Google Business Profile, pages on your site for each service and town, consistent business info across the web, and reviews.

How it differs from regular SEO

Regular SEO is about ranking for a topic anywhere in the country. Local SEO is about ranking for 'plumber Cookeville' or 'fence company near me' when the person searching is a few miles from you. The map listing matters as much as the website, and a competitor across the state is not your competition.

The four parts

  • Your Google Business Profile: category, services, photos, hours, service area.
  • Your website: one page per service, one page per town, titles that name both.
  • Your business info: the same name, phone, and address everywhere it appears online.
  • Reviews: steady, real, and replied to.

What it is not

It is not a trick. There is no secret setting. Anyone who offers to buy you reviews, stuff keywords into your business name, or guarantee a ranking is putting your profile at risk. Google removes fake reviews and suspends profiles for it.

What it costs with me

The Growth plan at $199 a month covers the profile work, the pages, and monthly rank tracking across your service area with a report you can actually read. The Pro plan at $349 adds a full campaign with new pages and seasonal updates.
