Do I really need a website if I already have a Facebook page?
Facebook reaches people who already know you. A website is how people who have never heard of you find you on Google. You want both, and the website is the one you actually own.
Who each one reaches
Your Facebook page mostly shows up for people who already follow you, and only when the algorithm decides to show it. When somebody in Cookeville types 'fence company near me' into Google, Facebook is not what comes up. A website and a Google Business Profile are.
You do not own your Facebook page
Facebook can change how many of your followers see a post, lock an account over a flagged photo, or bury business pages entirely, and there is nobody to call. I have watched contractors lose a page with years of job photos on it overnight. A website is yours. Nobody can take it down but you.
What Google does with a website
Google connects your website to your Business Profile. The site tells Google which services you offer and which towns you cover, and that is a big part of what decides whether you show up on the map. A Facebook page cannot do that job.
The cheap version still beats nothing
You do not need a big site. A single page with your services, your towns, your phone number, and a few real job photos starts at $299 and does more for Google than any Facebook page can. Keep the Facebook page too. Post your job photos there and link to the site.
